Birthdays and Sickdays!

It was my birthday! It was fantastic. Jonathan took me to Outback and to see Tron Legacy in 3D. Then on Monday he pretended to go to work and then knocked on the door with Cake and balloons and streamers ect. He had the day off and didn't tell me. It was a great day! My parents got me the curtains that I posted a picture of. I love them and and they make the whole room look better. The kids have been so easy to put to bed the last couple of days. Isaac loves going to bed on a mattress instead of his crib. Allie has gone from hating to sleep and being up until 11 to giving in easily and wanting to go to bed. I just put her in her crib around 9pm and she cries for 90 seconds and goes to sleep. This has been such a relief after the monster 2 weeks where they were sick and daylight savings through us all off. They just felt miserable and we were up with them until 11 or midnight with crying kids. I posted a video of how sick poor Izzy Pie was. I took the video because I was scared of how he was acting and wanting Jonathan's opinion if I should take him to the hospital. I ended up giving him a nap, he was really tired. And then his fever got to 102.7 and I got really scared but he knocked it down and he got some rest and we took them both to the Dr the next morning. Allie is now on a nebulizer and they both took lots of medicine and are doing much better. When I found out they were both so sick and each had an ear infection I was glad I had decided to be patient with them staying up so late.
Its gotten pretty hot in Texas so we're figuring out ways to keep the house cooler besides running the AC. So our next home project is a Patio cover! The hottest place in the house - hands down - is by the back sliding glass door and big window where the sun hits when its setting. It sets right into the kitchen where I"m running the Dishwasher and oven. So we're building a patio cover so that it hits that instead of our windows. And it will be fun to have in the summer for me to sit under while the kids are playing in the kiddie pool. All you can do in the summer is swim because its sooo hot! Jonathan's been drawing up the plans and we're pretty excited about it. That side bathroom just keeps getting pushed back : )
My dear friend was in the hospital last week. My friend Marta that I go to the library with on Wednesday. She had heart failure and they had to revive her 3x. So I've been helping out with their kids and praying for them. They sent her home on Saturday and still don't know why it all happened. We are grateful she's doing somewhat better. God has answered our prayers over and over and we are so happy.

The weather has been beautiful! I love having Isaac play in the backyard. Allie had her first bath without me in there with her. She crawled into my closet and opening a jar of green beans baby food. I'm not sure how she did that! So I gave her a bath. And then after she had so much fun when she saw Isaac in the tub she struggled so hard to get there herself. So they had their first bath time party. I got really excited about it. Jonathan and I are really excited for March Madness. I love competing in the brackets together. Isaac has been having a really hard time. I think he is sick, he's been really tired. Overall we're doing great! Bruce and Katie were in town this last week and it was so fun! We played Frisbee golf and made crafts and played games and had such a great time. Isaac is really learning to talk. He's doing such a great job with phrases and pronunciation. We're so proud of our little ones

New Cabinets

Our New Kitchen! Our most recent project was to stain the cabinets! I sanded and Jonathan stained! They look great! So in total we stripped wall paper, textured, painted, removed a metal plate thing, removed the laminate flooring and replaced it with vinal tile, stained the cabinets, and replaced the old weird hanging blinds with regular ones. One of favorite parts about restaining is there were lots of "drips" and grime and that I couldn't get off the cabinets and I sanded them right off! And the other favorite is that is looks fantastic! Jonathan is so great! Isaac is really learning to talk. I wonder how long he has been saying things because I can barley understand him, so maybe I just didn't before. Today he said, "I want to go outside" and "more cracker please" Alle said, "hi" and "mama". So proud of my little guys! Today I watched 4 kids for a family whose mother is in the hospital (so 6 kids at one time all under 6). I think my kids are really easy now. : ) We'll see how long I feel that way. Life is still fantastic. We have had so many great blessings and we are so grateful to our Father in Heaven.

Allie is all over the place! She can pull herself up and walk along furniture. She has become a fast crawler. She is happy to explore and is working on standing by herself. Isaac has gotten pretty defensive now that Allie tries to play with all of Isaac's stuff. Especially when she tries to take things out of his hands. He kicks her over, hits her in the head, and shoves her off furniture. We're working on that! His speach is developing well. He puts two words together like "Push On" for me to turn on the lights. Although it is very emotional for me as he grows up, it is a relief for him to tell me what he wants instead of screaming at while pointing at the wall. We are proud of him. We are refinishing our cabinets. It has been fun. It is beautiful outside. We took all the doors off and I have been sanding while listening to music. Isaac got to swim in our turtle pool and Allie plays with toys and eats crackers on a blanket. Jonathan is doing all the staining. Its nice to have a husband that is good at lots of things. There was lots of crud on the cabinets that I couldn't clean off when we moved in so it felt great to sand it all off. We are excited to finish and then I will post before and after pictures. Isaac is really interacting with other kids and having lots of fun at Library day and play group. I love to see him enjoy his activities more and more as he gets older. Oh ya, we died my hair blonde too. I forgot to take a picture, so i'll have to post that later!
