Isaac Spotlight

We found out last monday that our sweet little Isaac has autism.  He starts special preschool in September. Isaac knows his letters and letter sounds, can count to 109 and is great with puzzles and visual/spacial tasks. He is sweet, shares with his sister, and gives lots of hugs. Isaac is a happy obedient boy, which is what I really want for him. There are a few things we need work on with him. When kids on the playground talk to him he doesn't even look at them, and when they try to play with him he ignores them. He is behind on speach and language. He doesn't understand a lot of what we say and has limited words himself. Unlike many children with autism Isaac does tease and lie and has a normal relationship with us, which is great. That gives us a lot of hope that as we work with him and he goes to preschool he will be able to go to normal kindergarten. God has really comforted us and let us know that Isaac is in his hands. We have felt inspired on how to help him in his three key areas that he needs help 1. Social and communication 2. Imaginitive play 3. Understanding and obeying 3 step processes. Things are still going very well. Micaela is awake much more often - especially at night so I am having a hard time, but its worth it for our sweet little girl. Allie has been waking up at night as well, I am grateful for Jonathan's help. Micaela is growing up much to fast, smiling and lifting her head and assisted standing.

Allie shocks me at how much she knows. She will come up to me and tell me a shape i've never taught her (Oval, diamond ect). She knows letters numbers and shapes. I'll have to make a video of her doing shapes too. I guess a combination of Isaac always talking about shapes and alphabets and numbers and the educational shows they watch. Plus all our time on Starfall.com where they learn their alphabets and more.

There are some learning shows on Leapfrog and while I'm learning to handle 3 kids in diapers they watch quite a bit of it. Here is them singing the theme song to the Scout videos.

This is the video we made for our Scottrade competition. The parts that seem random to you (chamilion, guy getting hit in the face ect) are from Scottrade commercials so they make sense to us and the target audience. I am proud of Jonathan for learning how to use the video maker and doing such a great job. Corporate wrote him and said they really liked it and we have a cute family. The compitition was to make a cheer for your favorite baseball team (with a few rules like having Scottrade in it). My favorite team is the Cardinals but this Jonathan's video!   Enjoy!

Our sweet sweet little baby. She is still an easy baby but I am tired and worn out from getting up with her at night. She went through a bad throwing up and miserable phase, but i think we figured out what was causing it and I can only hope its over! I love snuggling with her and kissing her chubby little cheeks. She is the sweetest. The last couple of nights she slept very well and I am doing pretty well.

Preschool! Can you believe it? My friend runs a preschool out of her home and she is letting isaac and Allie come while i nap or clean the house. A very nice thing because I had a new baby. They do some fun stuff!

New hair cut for mommy, which happens to match Allie. I didn't do it to match her but I think its cute. I cut my hair because i've been getting headaches and did the bangs cuz i saw them on someone and liked them.

Isaac found some dental floss and tied himself up. Pretty funny. You can see Allie in the backround as she enters the terrible twos.

Sisters!

A Bike! Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Anna gave Isaac Parker's bike that he grew out of! Isaac loves it! We got bikes that Jonathan's work paid for through the health and wellness reimburment, but we haven't taken pictures yet. It will be so fun to go bike riding as a family! I got a baby blue beach cruiser!

We put Isaac and Allie to sleep in the same room and Isaac popped into her crib. To funny. We can't put them to bed in the same room because Isaac climbs in and steals her bear and makes her cry. Too funny. Allie got out of her crib the other day and fell asleep in the cubby where a TV should go in the entertainment center. She can get in but can't get down.

Baby bathtime! You can get a glimpse of how beautiful our new bathroom is. I haven't taken pictures cuz its not finished but the sink part is done!

We have a really cool faucet we got on clearance online and I love the trim which Jonathan tiled around the bathroom.

Still at the hospital

Things are still going well! My parents went home, but they left us with snacks and new toys! People from church are bringing us meals and Grandma Ramos comes over and entertains and watches this kids as well. Micaela is still sleeping all day and night, so she's still super easy. I just love to snuggle with her. Allie is okay with it as long as she doesn't need something and she can sit with me as well.

Baby Micaela

Micaela Elizabeth Ramos is here! She arrived March 9th at 5:01 pm weighing 8 lb 7 oz at 20 inches long. She's was born the biggest of all her Siblings which makes sense because she baked the longest. Even though there was no real hurry for her to be born there is something inside that just can't wait for babies to come. I thought I couldn't wait another minute. She came at the perfect time and was the easiest labor and delivery (after a hard pregnancy!)
I'd been having braxton hicks contractions for 8 weeks and sometimes they were strong and sometimes painful so i'd been praying that I would know when I needed to go to the hospital and when i was fine to stay at home. Then Thursday morning my water broke! An answer to my prayer! I called my dr and they said to go on in, so Jonathan came home from work and Jonathan's Mom came to watch the kids. We stopped by McDonald's for some breakfast, yum! WhenI got the hospital they said they were expecting me and I was the only person in Labor and Delivery that day so if i need anything there are plenty of people to help. They put in the epidural and then jump started the contractions so i missed all the pain! It was great! I probably only felt like 4 or 5 signifigantly painful contractions and nothing terribly painful. Delivery was only 5 to 10 minutes after around 5 hours in labor and she was here! A perfect precious little baby. she cried alittle bit and they put her right on me and I talked to her and she calmed right down. Then I gave her a kiss and she smiled! And she kept smiling when i kissed her. So sweet! She calms right down when we talk to her or hold her and it makes me feel so great. She is still in baby sleep mode so she is easy and snuggly. I absolutly love my snuggly sweet happy little girl.

Thus far Allie seems to like her. I thought it would be a disaster when she met her, but even when i held Micaela (and allie hadn't seen me all day) she just seemed interested in the baby insted of bothered. Allie was also distracted will all the 'no touch' items in the hospital room. She wasted no time trying to touch the computer and wires and open the drawers. I'm sure it will be different at home, but I'm pleased with the progress thus far!
